As a Learning Content Designer, you will be a key member of the Learning and Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to craft, architect, design and execute the JOEY University concept and program, which includes; the School of Culinary Arts, Business Management and Hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop course content including, but not limited to, measurable learning objectives, scenarios, simulations, audio scripts, progress checks, performance evaluations, reference glossaries and knowledge assessments
  • Develop instructional design processes which are creative, learner-centered, performance-based training materials through multiple formats including self-service written resources, interactive eLearning, video, Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and more
  • Support with the production of copy-write material in learning resource materials
  • Coordinate and support in facilitation of course execution
  • Identify learning development needs mapped to business outcomes, targeted audiences, and timelines by partnering with Operation business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), program managers and other key stakeholders
  • Expert in learning creation, utilize multiple avenues (centralized content to crowdsourced content) to generate content that is effective and productive.
  • Utilize ADDIE, SAM, Kirkpatrick and other recognized models to rapidly design, develop and publish engaging course content and learning activities for Instructor-Led Training, online and virtual delivery with continuous evaluation/improvement cycles for the course content
  • Stay up to date on the latest research and trends in the industry, consolidating information from the market, customers, and industry leaders as well as our own store-led training teams to better develop and enhance content.
  • Revise course content based on data illustrating ROI or efficacy of training modules
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design and training processes
  • Coach and consult operation leaders on curriculum and content development
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in content copy-writing, instructional design and facilitation coordination in learning
  • Hospitality experience is preferred
  • Program or project management experience an asset
  • Expertise in designing, developing, planning, implementing, and assessing training for operations, technical teams, and organizations
  • Exemplifies adult learning implementation and driving performance through impactful training
  • Proficient in selecting proper learning solutions based on learner needs
  • Proven ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visual aids
  • Illustrates experience designing and developing training materials in all formats including ILT (Instructor-Led Training), e-learning and video
  • Demonstrates an understanding of eLearning development tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or Flash
  • University degree or equivalent preferred
  • This is a full time office-based role
