This experience will allow those identifying with under-represented groups to develop employment skills, self-confidence and leadership abilities. The project will be delivered at two sites in Winnipeg and will engage 40 plus youth.RESPONSIBILITIES:This position reports to the Director of Community Engagement. The coordinator will be involved in the recruitment, screening, placement, supervision, support and recognition of youth volunteers in the Lead Up Project. The incumbent administers evaluations through focus groups, surveys, records of participation, reflection forms and a photo voice project. The coordinator is responsible for organizing and delivering training for youth to develop leadership, citizenship and job readiness skills. The coordinator will supervise two junior staff who will act as Lead Up youth recruiters and peer mentors in their schools and communities. The coordinator will be responsible for purchasing necessary supplies and equipment for the project. The Coordinator will facilitate Lead Up planning meetings twice a week, as well as, weekly group volunteer experiences. There will be at least one advocacy event during the term. Managing a program budget and writing a report will be another requirement for this project.MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
