Job Title: Lead Studio Attendant - Pottery Painting Studio

Busy Brushes is a creative, community-focused pottery painting studio where people of all ages come to relax, connect, and create. We are a small, independent business that values great customer service, attention to detail, and a welcoming atmosphere. We're looking for a reliable, creative, and experienced individual to take on a key role in the studio, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership or managerial position over time.

Key Responsibilities:

As Lead Studio Attendant, you'll be a core part of our small team. You'll ensure the day-to-day studio operations run smoothly, provide excellent customer service, and help shape the studio environment.

Customer Experience:

Greet and assist guests of all ages through the pottery painting process Create a friendly, inclusive, and relaxed atmosphere Handle payments, bookings, and customer questions Run birthday parties and special events
Studio Operations:

Set up and clean up painting stations Glaze pottery and load/unload kiln (training provided) Maintain inventory and studio organization Open and close the studio independently
Leadership & Growth:

Oversee part-time staff during shifts and provide informal training Help create and maintain operational systems (cleaning, scheduling, supply tracking, etc.) Learn back-end aspects of running the studio Take on increasing leadership over time, with the potential to grow into a management role within the next year

Qualifications:

We're looking for someone with a unique mix of creativity, leadership, and responsibility.

Creative experience 2+ years customer service experience in a fast-paced environment Supervisory or leadership experience Reliable, self-motivated, and confident managing shifts alone Excellent communication and time management skills Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Considered Assets:

Experience in ceramics or working with kilns Small business experience or interest in entrepreneurship Experience with scheduling, ordering, or operational planning Familiarity with Canva or social media content creation Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods

Position Details:

Availability

: Must be available weekends and some weekday shifts

Hours:

10 - 35 hours/week depending on season and fit

Compensation:

$18 -22/hour (based on experience) + tips + studio discounts

Location:

Peterborough, ON (in-person only)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
