Do you enjoy being outdoors and working with your hands? We are looking for a Lead Resort Groundskeeper for one of our RV resort locations. You will help us ensure the resort grounds are kept looking well-tended and attractive. Help us make our resort the kind of place guests can\'t wait to return to.

OVERVIEW

As a Lead Resort Groundskeeper you\'ll be responsible for performing a variety of landscaping maintenance duties. You\'ll maintain the irrigation system and regularly mow lawns, weed, plant flowers, remove debris from property grounds, and overall ensure the resort is well-maintained and look presentable. You\'ll also assist with light maintenance work throughout the property, and ensure our residents and guests receive quality customer service.

JOB DUTIES * Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly; repair as needed.

  • Ensure the resort landscaping is presentable and inviting at all times, and that it adheres to Sun\'s curb appeal standards.
  • Maintain water feature and fountain areas requiring specialized care including potted plants and landscape areas on pool decks.
  • Maintain landscaping on all model homes and the resort sales center.
  • Ensure lawns and recreation areas are manicured appropriately; regularly treat for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers and shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut and removes tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services as necessary.
  • Assist manager in establishing and prioritizing the daily work of the groundskeeping team.
  • Pick-up trash and debris from common areas and streets on a daily basis; empty trash in common areas as needed.
  • Ensure landscape beds are weeded, neatly edged, hedged and trimmed on a daily basis.
  • Maintain flowers and plants throughout the resort including discarding and replacing on a regular basis; record number of plants at each location and order plants and flowers as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures while performing duties.
  • Perform water testing and other maintenance duties related to an irrigation system, well-water system, or on-site water meters, if applicable; ensure water samples are taken on a regular basis.
  • Ensure safe storage of hazardous chemicals and/or equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Education (some HS education required)
  • Minimum of 2 years groundskeeping experience, preferably in the resort/hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques
  • Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
  • Proficient in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
  • Ability to provide legible written reports
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
