Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46/Hr. - CAD $52.61/Hr.
Summary:
Medical Affairs is the branch of Providence Health Care (PHC) responsible for the management and oversight of the relationship between PHC and all medical staff (physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives and dentists), who are primarily independent contractors. Medical Affairs engages with, and secures the services of, medical staff to ensure their delivery of client and family centered medical care, while also facilitating enhanced collaboration between medical staff and those health care professionals employed by PHC.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs & Medical Staff Services, with dyad matrix reporting to the Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs & Engagement Strategies (SMD) and working closely with the Regional Physician Physical & Psychological Health & Safety Working Group, the Lead, Medical Staff Wellness & Engagement is responsible for developing and executing strategies and initiatives to enhance communication, engagement, integration, and experience of medical staff at PHC. The Lead develops, fosters, and maintains strong collaborative working relationships and effective partnerships within Medical Affairs, as well as with senior medical leaders, the broader Medical Staff, partners across PHC, and other health system partners (external). This role also applies project and change management approaches to advance initiatives that align with PHC Medical Affairs Office, organizational, and Regional Physician Physical & Psychological Health & Safety Working Group priorities. This includes leading specific projects focused on medical staff wellness, safety, communication and engagement strategy, and onboarding/orientation.
Experienced in medical staff engagement, the Lead, Medical Staff Wellness & Engagement, recognizes the complexities of leading change with a diverse group and nuanced setting. This position is notably complex due to the inherent unique characteristics of medical staff culture and their position as independent contractors. Furthermore, the environment in which medical staff practice adds layers of complexity due to the influence of the Physician Master Agreement and many external partners including the Medical Staff Association, Physician & Surgeons Society, UBC, VCH, Doctors of BC, the Joint Clinical Committees, and the Ministry of Health.
