Underground Lead Hand





Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Lead Hand to work on underground / water & sewer projects located in western Canada. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):




Work with all members of the underground crew to determine work planning and flow Provide supervision in the absence of the Foreman Assist in safety and quality management Complete site documentation as required Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity



Required Skills:




2+ years of Lead Hand experience Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset Ability to operate equipment is an asset Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets Safety conscious Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms Organized and ability to multi-task Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman Able to support other positions as needed Strong communication skills - provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail Ability to mentor workers for advancement Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty



Required Certifications:




CSTS 2020 WHMIS 2015 Ground Disturbance Level 2 Standard First Aid Confined Space * Fall Protection
