Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Hand to join our dynamic team as well as additional experienced crew members to split the crew and work on several projects. Work is currently in NW/SE Calgary. The Lead Hand will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a solid background in various construction techniques. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in multiple areas of construction, including custom carpentry and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the construction crew to ensure project timelines are met. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide project execution. Train and supervise team members on proper use of hand tools and heavy equipment operation. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all crew members. Communicate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders regarding project progress and any issues that arise. Conduct quality checks on work completed by team members to ensure it meets company standards.

Experience

Proven experience in the construction industry with a focus on framing custom houses. Strong skills in operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics to accurately execute projects. Familiarity with hand tools used in construction tasks. Previous experience leading a team or supervising construction projects is preferred. A commitment to safety practices and the ability to enforce safety protocols among team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 70 per week

Schedule:

10 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
