Lead Environmental Risk Assessor \xe2\x80\x93 Eastern Canada (Pipeline)

Our Eastern Canada operations is looking to fill a Lead Environmental Risk Assessor position in our growing Canadian Operations.

The successful candidate will report to the Eastern Canada Business Group Leader and will be responsible for leading and growing our human health and ecological risk assessment group in Eastern Canada. Below are some of the key technical responsibilities for this position:

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in human health and ecological risk assessments, as well as risk management plan development;
  • Client development and technical advisor to provide strategic advice related to risk-based approaches in support of redevelopment, remediation and/or risk management;
  • Provide strategic guidance in data management, contaminant fate & transport modelling, exposure modelling and quantitative risk calculations;
  • Lead multi-disciplinary internal and external project teams for multi-media risk assessment of complex sites;
  • Lead the preparation of technical reports for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines/business groups and regions, as necessary, to complete deliverables and support risk assessment projects across North America and Globally;
  • Possess strong project management, coordination and planning skills to meet client timelines and budget;
  • Possess strong client development skills;
  • Experience in research methods/techniques to gather information, assess and resolve issues, assess validity and applicability of scientific studies;
  • Experience in completion of health impact assessments in support of Provincial or Federal Impact Assessments;
  • Lead the growth of the risk assessment practice in Eastern Canada.
Qualifications:
  • University degree (Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher preferred) in one or more of the following: environmental science, toxicology, or chemical engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of environmental consulting experience in the Canadian marketplace.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with Federal risk assessment framework and FCSAP process.
  • Proven client management and regulatory negotiation experience.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Bilingual capabilities considered an asset.
  • Valid Canadian Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and satisfactory driving record for business travel.
