THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure and Utilities, the Lead Design Engineer is an integral member of the CANA Energy team that will create bases of estimate for design/construction and design to IFC using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This position is responsible for staying up to date with industry trends and producing consistently excellent visual work to satisfy business and stakeholder needs.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years\' experience in the design of underground distribution systems for industrial and commercial applications on the utility side of the meter
- P.Eng standing with APEGA
- Knowledge of electrical distribution engineering design and calculations as it relates to customer electrical needs
- Experience preparing detailed design drawings including, but not limited to, single line diagrams, site plans, wiring diagrams, and bills of material
NICE TO HAVE
- Knowledge of theory and practice of electrical utility distribution planning, construction, and operation
- Familiarity with codes and standards applicable to designing underground electrical distribution systems
- Experience with review and preparations of lighting layouts and lighting photometric calculations (IESNA Lighting Standards)
- Competent in Fortis UEDS standards and requirements
- Experience in Fortis design approval
