Job Description

We are a property development company with multi-unit residential developments in Wolfville and Kentville. We are looking for a Lead Carpenter, ideally a hardworking professional with several years of Carpentry and Management experience to join our carpentry team. The Lead Carpenter will report to our Project Manager and will be relied upon as our Crew Lead. If you have experience in carpentry, as well as managing a team/job site, this may be the position for you!

The Position - Lead Carpenter / Crew Lead



Responsibilities



Build, erect and install concrete forms, wood/metal framing, cladding, windows, roofing, insulation, trims, interior finishes, fences, decks. Organize, assign and lead, team of carpenters, apprentices or laborer's in daily construction activities Oversee, instruct and improve quality and productivity of daily crew activities Complete daily safety duties including but not limited to daily hazard assessments, job specific assessment, vehicle/equipment assessment Read, interpret blueprints, Building Code knowledge is considered an asset Goal oriented scheduling in tandem with Site Supervisor Coordinate material ordering and delivery with Site Supervisor

Qualifications



Red Seal certification or equivalent trade experience Valid driver's license, reliable transportation Proven experience in residential construction, commercial considered an asset. Working knowledge of National Building Code of Canada requirements. Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures. The ability to read and interpret blueprints. Effective communication skills, strong English is required Strong leadership skills. Excellent time management skills. The ability to safely operate power tools.

Pay starting at $28/hour
