Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various trades, including but not limited to framing, drywall, roofing, steel siding and with the ability to read schematics and blueprints. This leadership role requires excellent communication skills, hands-on expertise, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently to ensure project success. The Lead Carpenter will be responsible for guiding teams, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards across all assignments.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety protocols. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide team work. Oversee the installation of framing, siding, roofing, flooring, tile laying, cabinetry, and other building components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, machinery, and other equipment to perform various construction tasks. Conduct quality inspections of work completed by team members to meet industry standards. Calculate and order materials needed for upcoming tasks. Train and mentor crew members in proper techniques Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations. Manage project timelines and communicate progress updates to stakeholders. Address any issues or delays promptly to keep projects on schedule.

Requirements

Proven experience in residential/commercial construction management or as a lead in trades Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, concrete forming, rebar installation, framing, drywall, siding installation, heavy lifting techniques, and construction estimating. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, machinery, woodworking equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and general assembly tasks. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required. Valid certifications or licenses related to construction trades are preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients and team members. Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44 per week
