Sankofa Cafe is a small, independently owned cafe and gaming venue in Cole Harbour, focusing on high quality pastry, lunch, and coffee. We're looking for a creative and reliable Lead Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for food, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of menu items in advance of opening for service, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring consistent quality in every batch.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve a range of simple lunch items and hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee and themed beverages Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency Maintain a clean and organized kitchen space, following food safety guidelines Provide excellent customer service to gamers, spectators, and casual cafe guests Monitor baking supplies and inform management of inventory needs Assist with new product development and seasonal menu items

Requirements:

Previous baking, kitchen or service experience preferred Food Safety Certified, preferred Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed Strong organizational and time management skills Creativity and a passion for food service
Starting wage rate based on experience.
