Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Lead Baker / cake decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and cake decorating, along with a strong commitment to customer service. This role involves creating visually appealing cakes for various occasions, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The Cake Decorator / lead baker will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, collaborating with our head chef and other team members to meet customer demands and maintain an efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and preferences. Prepare cake batter, frosting, and other ingredients as needed. Ensure all cakes are baked to perfection and meet quality standards. Package finished products for display or delivery while maintaining presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food handling safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with cake selections and special requests. Collaborate with team members to manage inventory and order supplies as necessary. Stay updated on current trends in cake decorating techniques and styles.

Experience

Previous experience in cake decorating or a related role in the food industry is preferred. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment. Strong knowledge of food handling practices to ensure safety and hygiene standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Creativity and attention to detail are essential for producing high-quality decorated cakes.
