Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.

The Laydown Coordinator manages Materials Management (MM) operations at project offsite and laydown locations. This position is responsible for developing plans, executing strategies and work processes to ensure that MM activities at storage facilities and laydown areas support the project requirements.

The Laydown Coordinator supports Bantrel\'s Vision by demonstrating Bantrel\'s Values, and Covenants in all functional, company wide, client and third-party interactions and communications.

  • Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on a 14 day on 7 days off rotation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide coordination, training and guidance for all assigned Laydown MM warehouse personnel focused on steel yard management and heavy equipment preservation.
  • Ensure that all Material logs, registers, inspection reports are created for daily receipts, O,S&D, back charges, equipment, hazardous materials, refundable reels, gas cylinders, trailers and containers, etc. and are accurate and maintained as per project procedures
  • Follow the material storage plan and execution strategy to support the control, preservation, and distribution of materials per project plans and corporate procedures including Direct and Indirect materials.
  • Develop, assist, and/or implement the Field MM Plan, Material Responsibility Matrix, Automation Plan and Project Job Instructions. Proficiency with RFID technology is a must.
  • Monitor and analyze all project material related deliverables and schedules and initiate corrective action as necessary, and to ensure sufficient manpower and resources to support the project.
  • Prepare MM status and metric reports for the project and directs distribution for management review.
  • Direct and coordinate the identification, declaration, disposition, valuation and reporting of surplus materials.
  • Plan and direct materials and equipment to predetermined off site storage to accommodate items with specific preservation requirements. Including offsite facility visits, audits, and cycle counts
  • Continually reviews assigned resources, performance, and work processes to advise PFPM/MM of any required changes to plans or procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6-8 years EPC industry experience in the function of MM
  • Post-Secondary education in Business, Engineering or Construction Management is an asset.
  • Successful performance as a MM Supervisor of varying size and complex projects
  • Demonstrated success in leadership and process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in RFID and automation techniques
  • Knowledge of commercial management and experience in project planning and operations, including both office and jobsite locations
  • Fosters a positive and collaborative work culture and champion the Vision, Values and Covenants by leading by example.
  • Unquestionable ethics and integrity and a high degree of Emotional Intelligence
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with Stakeholders including Clients, Senior Leaders, and frontline employees.

  • Can manage shifting priorities while maintaining deliverable deadlines.
