Edilex's legal team is currently looking for a lawyer who is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.

Edilex provides legal services related to public procurement and public contracts to over 400 public and municipal organizations, including healthcare and educational institutions, municipalities, public transit corporations, and government agencies.

It is an innovative company operating in the legal technology sector. More specifically, it offers web-based solutions to automate contract drafting, such as Edilexpert/Legalflo--a software platform for automated drafting of public tenders and direct award contracts, currently used by nearly 400 public and municipal organizations.

Edilex is recognized as a leader in the field of document automation, a rapidly evolving area of legal technology that is transforming the legal landscape and the way professionals draft business contracts.

Our goal is to empower legal teams and businesses through technology by developing software and legal content for all those involved in the contract drafting process. Through its technologies, Edilex is transforming the way legal services are delivered.

Under the supervision of the Chief Legal Operations Officer, you will collaborate with a team of ten legal professionals to provide legal services to our clients, model clauses and contractual documents to support the development of new legal products and contribute to supplying content for Edilex's technologies.

In summary, your role would be

Draft public tender documents, direct award contracts, and other accessory documents related to the public procurement processes of public and municipal organizations in Ontario, and model these documents using a legal engineering approach for integration onto our Edilexpert/Legalflo software platform; Advise and support public and municipal organizations in Ontario on various public contracting issues, such as selecting appropriate tendering strategies or analyzing the compliance of tenders; Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting public contracts in Ontario and ensure the continuous and ongoing update of clauses and legal content found on the Edilexpert/Legalflo software platform; Contribute to various legal publications (blog posts, scholarly articles, etc.) and assist in preparing legal training sessions on public contracts for public and municipal organizations located in Ontario.

We are looking for someone who

Has an aptitude and an interest in using information technologies, particularly legal technology; Has a minimum of 5 years of experience as a lawyer specializing in public procurement and public contracts in Ontario; experience within a public or municipal organization located in Ontario (e.g., healthcare or educational institution, municipality) is considered an asset; Is proficient in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is considered an asset; Masters Microsoft Office Suite applications; Possesses strong teamwork skills and the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
