Okanagan Mental Health Services Society's •Yard by Yard Program• provides meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with mental health disabilities, helping them build skills and confidence while delivering high-quality lawn care, horticulture, arboriculture, landscaping, irrigation, and snow removal services. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crew Lead in our Lawn Care department to join our team and support our mission.

Position Overview

The Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing and working alongside a crew of program participants to complete residential and commercial lawn care services. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on work, and the ability to mentor and support participants while ensuring high-quality service and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a crew to provide lawn maintenance services, including mowing, trimming, edging, aerating, fertilizing, and overseeding.

- Train, mentor, and support participants in developing lawn care skills and safe work habits.

- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

- Operate and maintain lawn care equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.

- Communicate effectively with customers and management to coordinate job scheduling and completion.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

- Perform snow removal as required, including shoveling and de-icing from November 1st to March 31st.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience in lawn care, landscaping, or a related field.

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an asset.

- Ability to work with and support individuals with mental health disabilities.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Knowledge of lawn care best practices, equipment operation, and safety procedures.

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

- Able to perform outdoor manual labor in various weather conditions.

- Participate in winter snow removal operations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
