The Law Student will be an integral part of CIRO's Regulation team (Montreal office), and as such, will be providing support to that team in the performance of its various activities.




Core Responsibilities:




Research case law relating to disciplinary matters Keep track of relevant decisions made by other regulators Monitor legislative changes pertaining to the investment and mutual fund industries Monitor financial news and prepare summaries of relevant information Prepare meeting minutes



Key Skills and Competencies:




Must-haves




Law school degree (undergraduate or graduate), completed or in progress Knowledge of capital markets regulation or completion of courses on this topic, an asset

Nice to Haves




Strong analytical and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks appropriately and work independently with minimal supervision Proficiency in Microsoft Office

This position requires the ability to communicate with employees in CIRO regional offices and other CIRO stakeholders across Canada.
