We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Laundry Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in both pressing/laundry work and operational supervision.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise laundry operations: Assign, monitor and review the work of laundry, pressing and finishing workers; establish work schedules and procedures; and coordinate activities with other areas.
Hands?on laundry and pressing work: Operate steam pressers, hand irons and finishing equipment to finish garments when needed; inspect and assemble items; and ensure that finished products meet quality standards.
Manage supplies and equipment: Requisition supplies and materials; monitor inventory; and arrange for maintenance or repair of computer systems, pressing equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operation.
Resolve operational issues: Address work?related problems, monitor production levels and prepare progress or quality reports.
Maintain health and safety: Enforce safety procedures and cleanliness standards; ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Assist with production: When required, perform the same duties as workers supervised (e.g., sorting, washing, pressing, finishing and folding laundry).
Requirements
Secondary school education; on?the?job training provided.
3+ years of hands?on experience in residential/commercial laundry or dry?cleaning operations, including pressing and finishing garments.
Experience supervising staff or leading a team in a production environment is preferred.
Completion of post?secondary courses in textile care, business administration or operations management is an asset.
Strong knowledge of laundry/pressing equipment, production schedules and quality control.
Ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy or bulky items.
