We're looking for a skilled, reliable and experienced Crew Lead who is equally comfortable leading a team or working independently.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both manage a small crew and step into solo work when required. You'll set the tone on-site, ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard, and serve as the point of contact for both the team and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a small crew in landscape maintenance (mowing, pruning, weeding, garden bed work) and installation (planting, light hardscape, soil work).
Plan daily tasks, assign responsibilities, and keep the crew organized and productive.
Take initiative and complete jobs solo when necessary (e.g., small sites, staff absences).
Operate and maintain landscaping tools, trucks, and trailers.
Uphold site safety, ensure quality of work, and maintain cleanliness and professionalism on job sites.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, team members, and management.
Track and report daily job progress, hours, and material use via mobile apps or site sheets.
Help train and mentor junior crew members.
Qualifications:
3+ years of landscape maintenance experience; installation experience is a strong asset.
Strong Plant Identification skills
Ability to use powered power tools and maintenance knowledge is a strong asset
Proven ability to lead others and manage job sites.
Valid BC driver's license with a clean abstract (comfortable driving truck and trailer is preferred).
Self-motivated, organized, and confident working independently.
Physically fit and able to lift 50?lbs+, work outdoors in all conditions.
Comfortable using smartphones or tablets to submit site information and timesheets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Horticulture training or certification.
Experience with basic hardscaping, irrigation, landscape construction, basic carpentry skills
Ability to read landscape plans or follow install layouts.
