Sutherland Landscaping is a fast-growing local company seeking a

Lead Hand

to work alongside our maintenance crews. This position is ideal for someone with solid landscaping experience who enjoys mentoring others while learning the ins and outs of leadership in a supportive environment.

What You'll Do

Work side-by-side with the crew

, helping train and guide team members on proper technique and safety. Assist the team lead in planning daily tasks and keeping properties looking fantasic year-round according to our proven property maintenance plan. Pitch in on every aspect of property maintenance: mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, and seasonal clean-ups. Drive a

truck and trailer

to and from job sites and keep equipment organized and maintained (basic tasks like oil changes and blade sharpening). Engage with customers and community members in a friendly, professional manner when questions arise on site. Be champion of our Company Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
What We're Looking For

2-3 years of professional landscape maintenance experience

(commercial or high-end residential preferred). Comfortable and capable driving and backing a

truck and tandem-axle trailer

. Reliable, steady worker with a positive attitude and attention to detail.

Interest in growing into a formal leadership role

through hands-on experience and mentorship. Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather. Valid Class 5 driver's licence (clean abstract is an asset). Green-industry certifications are an asset but not required.
