Job Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Landscape Labourer / Snow Removal Foreman to lead a snow removal crew and contribute to year-round operations. This role will primarily focus on efficient and safe snow removal during the winter, with the opportunity for landscaping work in the warmer months. We offer a competitive winter salary starting at $800/week, with the actual rate dependent on experience. This ensures a guaranteed income even when weather conditions don't require snow removal. During the summer, the position transitions to hourly compensation, reflecting our commitment to fair pay for the longer hours required.

Key Responsibilities:

Shovel snow and apply ice melt products to client properties and public walkways. Operate snow plows and other related equipment to clear snow and ice from roadways, parking lots, and various surfaces. Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to changing conditions to maintain safe environments for vehicles and pedestrians. Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to established routes and schedules for snow removal. Collaborate with team members during heavy snowfall to coordinate efforts effectively. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours and materials used. Follow all safety regulations and protocols when operating equipment in adverse weather.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating snow plow vehicles or similar heavy machinery (preferred). Strong supervisory skills with a commitment to quality control. Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (minimum 3 years required). Minimum 1 year of experience in the landscaping field. Reliable transportation, as this is an on-call position. Availability to leave the shop before 4 AM when snow is expected overnight is essential.
