Landscape Foreman/Forewoman

Job Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary:

$36.60 - $38.00 hourly (to be negotiated)

Hours:

40 hours per week, with work starting early in the morning.

Your Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints and instructions to plan project tasks. Lead landscaping projects for residential, commercial, and institutional sites. Install both hardscape and softscape elements

Install hardscaping features including stone paths, patios, retaining walls, and interlocking brick. Perform a wide range of landscaping tasks, including trimming trees, planting, and maintaining lawns and gardens. Apply various treatments like fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Manage project costs and write specifications. Install and maintain specialized features like interlocking brick, rock gardens, irrigation systems, and ornamental ponds. Assess the health of lawns and plants and plan their growth and use.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in landscaping, with a focus on residential, commercial, or institutional projects. Experience in landscape construction is an asset.

Education:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Knowledge:

Proficiency in MS Outlook and strong knowledge of plant identification, propagation, and landscape design.

Physical Fitness:

This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to handle heavy loads, perform repetitive tasks, and work in all weather conditions. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.

Personal Skills:

You must be a reliable, punctual, and organized team player with excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

Work Environment and Equipment

This is an

on-site position

that requires you to work outdoors in all weather conditions. You must provide your own steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and rain gear.
