Job Title: Land Development CoordinatorReports to: Director, Land DevelopmentCompany: Taggart InvestmentsPart of the Taggart Group of Companies, the Land Development department of focuses on developing residential lands in Ottawa and Kingston for various Group holding companies. As we continue to build on our development strategy, we are currently looking for candidates in the role of Land Development Coordinator to support the growing needs of the land development team, in helping to create and build communities.Work DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Land Development Coordinator to oversee all aspects of residential land development projects, from preliminary design to completion. The successful candidate will lead a team of consultants, manage the planning approval process, and contribute to building thriving communities.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about real estate and is looking to grow their career.Major Responsibilities:Land Development Coordinator

  • Participate in preliminary community, subdivision, and site plan design.
  • Manage projects throughout the development process to achieve major milestones, including approvals, plan registration, construction and final assumption.
  • Oversee planning approvals by preparing and submitting applications (official plan, zoning, draft plan, site plan, part lot control, committee of adjustment, etc.) through to final approval.
  • Lead the consulting team, providing direction, timelines, and input on technical deliverables required as part of the approvals process.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders such as consultants, partners, city staff, and community members.
  • Track project progress critical paths, and report to management.
  • Create and maintain budgets, review and negotiate contracts, and track invoices.
  • Develop communication materials, attend meetings, and oversee logistics (scheduling, preparing agendas and minutes, and disseminating information).
  • Conduct site visits, attend site meetings, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide direction on deficiency/issues resolutions.
  • Support work with financial analyses, owner\xe2\x80\x99s groups, front ending agreements, cost-sharing, development charges and collect back that are relevant to the site\xe2\x80\x99s being managed, alongside the Vice-President.
  • All other duties as required.
Statement of Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Post-secondary education in urban design/planning or a related field. Graduate degree would be an asset.
  • Proven land development project management expertise with a minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience.
  • In-depth understanding of land development planning, approvals, regulations, and legislation.
  • Progressive experience in dealing with municipalities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and providing feedback on technical drawings and studies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Innovative and creative problem solver who has experience challenge the status quo to create a better product.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a passion for urban planning and land development.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with AutoCAD, photoshop and Adobe would be considered an asset.
  • Valid driver\'s license with the ability to travel throughout the City would be considered an asset.
Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment:
  • Working primarily in an office environment with occasional meeting on construction sites.
  • Provide service to multiple people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
  • Willingness to be mobile as the role requires work to be performed primarily in the office but also on-site.
  • Overtime as required.
