Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About The Role

Schedule: Shift 7/7 \xe2\x80\x93 12 hour days/nights

Position Reports To: TMA Supervisor

Position Overview

The role of the Labourer is to provide support to TMA operations, mainly through laboring and operating some heavy equipment as required to ensure that production activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner and production objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

Labourer responsibilities vary depending on level of experience and qualifications and may include, but not limited to, the following activities:

Assisting with geo fabric placement and removal
Assist via ground support with raking, shoveling, watering and rock removal as required for core construction and instrument raises
Any other ground activities required to ensure safe, efficient, and productive continuous operations occur
Assist with fueling and lubing of equipment as required
Operate Roller Packer in a safe and efficient manner as required
Operate any other mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform pre-operational checks and regularly cleans, lubricates, and refills equipment to ensure the equipment runs safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

Driver\'s license is desirable but not mandatory
1 year operating machinery considered an asset but not necessary
Ontario Common Core Training is an asset

Working conditions

Exposure to unpleasant weather-related conditions such as cold, heat, rain, and snow
Exposure to different work schedules including night shifts
Work involves highly repetitive tasks including lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to understand and follow Safety Operating Practices
Strong verbal communication skills
Aptitude to demonstrate safety procedures is essential in this role
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and signage
Ability to think and act decisively
Ability to utilize training information effectively in the field
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Ability to work at heights
Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labour
