JOB OVERVIEW:
Labour Relations Advisor will support the legal department in a variety of matters that impact our business including Collective Bargaining, Policy and Compliance, Grievance and Dispute Resolution, Strategy and Planning, and Training and Support
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
A degree, diploma, or certificate in
Labour Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, Business
, or a related field
At least
3 years of relevant experience
in labour relations, HR, or a similar role
A solid understanding of
Canadian and provincial labour and employment legislation
Hands-on experience with
collective bargaining, grievance handling, and arbitration support
Confidence interpreting and administering
collective agreements
Experience or familiarity with the
utility sector
(distribution, transmission, and communications)
Strong
communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfort working
independently
while knowing when to collaborate
A high level of
integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office
; experience with
Bluebeam or estimation software
is a plus
DUTIES:
Supporting and participating in
collective bargaining
, including research, preparation, and negotiations
Managing the
grievance process
, from investigation through resolution
Representing the company in
arbitrations and other labour-related proceedings
Advising leaders and employees on labour laws, HR policies, and collective agreements
Helping develop and implement labour relations strategies, policies, and programs
Providing guidance and support on day-to-day labour and HR matters
Researching best practices in
compensation, benefits, and health & safety
to support continuous improvement
