Job Description

:

The Operator oversees the filling and assembly lines efficiently, assuring that all quality and safety processes are being maintained. This is achieved through a variety of tasks to move components, mass, and finished goods between the Production floor and Staging area. This includes but is not limited to: breaking down equipment, clearing jams, conducting changeovers and maintaining running lines.

Position Responsibilities:

• Operate packaging equipment during production runs; perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Perform in-process quality checks, manual filling, and packaging, loading machinery with components.
• Assist mechanic in basic set-ups / changeovers for packaging and process equipment.
• Communicate closely with other necessary personnel (e.g. Mechanic, Process Coordinator and Supervisor) to ensure the resource is running effectively.
• Inspect, disassemble, and clean equipment in accordance with line clearance, cleaning, and sanitization procedures.
• Perform line clearance of components and mass.
• Initiate basic trouble shooting; assess and address failure modes of equipment

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Must have strong communication, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Display strong math skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, averages)
• Must be able to display basic mechanical/technical skills
• Must be able to display basic computer skills
• Education: High school/Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred 6 months of packaging operator experience.
