We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food service, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food preparation, safety, and customer service while supervising kitchen staff and managing daily operations.
Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper handling of kitchen equipment.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock to ensure efficient operations.
Collaborate with the culinary team to create menus that meet customer preferences while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining high-quality food presentation and timely delivery of meals.
Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Utilize POS systems (such as Micros POS) for cash handling and order processing.
Implement training programs for staff on food safety practices and kitchen procedures.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and experience using POS systems.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality.
Previous experience as a barista or in serving roles is a plus.
