Position Overview

We are seeking a

full-time Kitchen Floater Staff

member to join our dedicated team. This role is an

on-site, in-person position

with an

8-hour shift

(30-minute unpaid lunch).

The Kitchen Floater is responsible for ensuring safe food handling, maintaining health and hygiene standards, and supporting classroom transitions. This is a vital role that helps ensure smooth daily operations for our centre.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Duties

Receive and organize daily food deliveries from

Real Food for Real Kids (RFRK)

. Check and record food , fridge, dishwasher

temperature logs

upon delivery. Ensure food is labeled and distributed to classrooms on time, following all

allergy and dietary restrictions

. Follow

Halton Public Health Region

protocols for food handling, hygiene, and sanitization. Operate the

dishwasher daily

, including

manual dishwashing before loading

. Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitization, and inventory according to centre policies.

Floater Duties

Complete

daily laundry

for classrooms onsite. Provide support to classrooms during

transitions, break coverage, and lunch coverage

, with a focus on assisting

infant classroom

. Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth daily routines and safe environments when needed .
Qualifications

Valid Food Handler Certification

(required).

Up-to-date immunization records

as per Ministry of Education requirements (required). Experience in a

child care setting

or working with children (asset). Strong organizational and teamwork skills. Updated Vulnerable Sector Screening Check needed (should be with in 6 months of hiring) Ability to follow health, safety, and hygiene protocols consistently.
