About Homestead Marketplace



Homestead Marketplace is a collection of 12 like-minded, community-driven companies locally owned and operated. It is a destination where families will come together to shop, eat, and play - all with a strong focus on giving back to our community. Located at 6 Douglas Road in Quinte West, by the end of 2023 the 18-acre property will offer over 165,000 sq. ft. of premium, national retailers, casual dining restaurants, a fully-licensed sports grill, 24-hour gym and a one-of-a-kind 18-hole adventure golf and high ropes park.

We are currently seeking a passionate and organized full time Kitchen Manager who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Kitchen Manager will report directly to the General Manager. The Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. We are looking for a candidate who is detail oriented, displays strong organizational and problem-solving skills, works well independently and as part of a team.

What you'll do to be successful in this role:



Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times Supervise food prep and cooking Check food plating and temperature Establish portion sizes Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service Food Safety Certification (CIFS) Daily and weekly preparation, as needed Work well under pressure at peak order times Daily cleaning duties to maintain a high level of restaurant cleanliness Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels Being a team player that works well with others Providing training to new staff to facilitate quick acclimation Keep weekly and monthly cost reports Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring to the team:



Proven experience as a Cook or the equivalent through formal culinary education Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients Flexible schedule: available for day, weekend and morning shifts, as scheduled A positive attitude Ability to provide leadership and work effectively in a team environment
