Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced

Kitchen Lead

to oversee and elevate the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a focus on training and team development, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. This role is central to ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently while supporting a positive and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities



Lead, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure proper coverage and smooth service during all shifts. Provide hands-on training and continuous coaching to new and existing team members on cooking techniques, food safety, service standards, and company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times, setting the standard for cleanliness and enforcing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists. Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to ensure consistent quality and portion control. Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure the kitchen is always well-prepared. Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to align on service flow, timing, and customer experience. Address and resolve any customer concerns promptly and professionally. Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal items, customer feedback, and creative new ideas. Ensure all health, safety, and food-handling regulations are followed consistently. Track kitchen workflow, manage orders through the POS system, and adapt staffing or processes to meet demand. Support hiring by interviewing and onboarding new staff members when required.

Requirements



Proven experience in kitchen leadership, restaurant management, or a similar role within the food industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop a diverse team. Experience creating and managing staff schedules to balance efficiency and labor needs. Knowledge of food safety regulations, cleaning protocols, and best practices in food preparation. Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail and consistency. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to work collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams. Previous experience as a cook or chef is highly desirable.
