Duties

Assist with meal preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients efficiently Support cooking activities under the supervision of the head cook Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold food safety standards Handle food items safely during storage, transfer, and disposal processes in accordance with hygiene protocols Prepare basic food items such as salads, garnishes, and side dishes for service Help with setting up serving stations and ensuring all areas are stocked and ready for meal service Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment

Skills

Basic cooking skills with an understanding of food handling procedures Strong knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients efficiently and safely Experience in meal preparation and food service environments preferred but not required Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members Prior restaurant or catering experience is a plus; culinary experience is highly valued
