Overview

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the chefs in daily operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play an important role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and service, contributing to the overall success of our Cafe.

Responsibilities

Assist the chef with ingredient preparation and food assembly. Heat and finish food in the front of the house in a busy environment.. Reliably bake off goods for the Cafe. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure work surfaces, storage areas, and equipment are kept clean, sanitized, and orderly. Help with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries while following proper rotation (FIFO) and food safety practices. Dispose of waste properly and keep garbage/recycling areas tidy. Restock kitchen supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations during service. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times. Provide general support to chefs and team members during busy service hours. Cross-train in general store operations and provide support where necessary, particularly during slower periods.

Requirements

Experience in a kitchen, cafe, or restaurant setting.. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Good communication skills and a positive attitude. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation is an advantage. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and handle repetitive tasks.
