Job Brief
Compensation: $24/hr + tips
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Kitchen Cook to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will have experience with large-scale food preparation while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The Kitchen Cook will works directly with the Executive Chef and other prep cooks.
Expect to work 8am - 4pm, Tuesday - Saturday
Expect to work through to the end of December. Winter positions are available on a limited basis.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
Prepping & cutting bulk meat, vegetables, desserts, and other dishes
Preparing house sauces
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all meat and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients before use
Receiving and checking orders
Cooking & reheating bulk food for events
Other Tasks
Opportunities to learn smoking, braising, & rotisserie bbq from an experienced Pitmaster & Red Seal Chef
Delivery of Catering Orders as needed
Participating in Social Media Content
Useful Experience
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques
Proven experience as a cook
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff members
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Self directed with excellent time management
Ability to manage your own station
Excellent physical condition and stamina
Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
Clean Driving Record
G Drivers Licence

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
