Baton Rouge Kanata has just come out of a major renovation with a
brand-new dining room design and upgraded kitchen equipment
, and we're looking for a reliable, energetic
Line Cook
to join our team.
We're a full-service grillhouse known for our ribs, steaks, and warm hospitality. You'll be working in a refreshed, modern kitchen with new tools and equipment, helping us deliver consistent, high-quality plates every shift. If you take pride in doing things properly, care about consistency, and enjoy a fast-paced kitchen, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items to Baton Rouge standards for taste, temperature, and presentation
Work assigned stations (grill, saute, fry, pantry, prep, etc.) and support other stations as needed
Follow recipes, portion controls, timing, and plating specs consistently--no freelancing on specs
Set up, maintain, and break down your station, keeping it clean, stocked, and organized before, during, and after service
Handle food safely at all times, including proper labeling, storage, rotation (FIFO), and minimizing waste
Communicate clearly with the rest of the line, expo, and management to keep tickets moving smoothly during rushes
Assist with prep work for upcoming shifts (sauces, vegetables, proteins, portioning, etc.)
Use and respect our
new equipment
properly, following all safety and operating guidelines
Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and opening/closing procedures as directed by the Kitchen Manager or shift lead
Contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture--showing up on time, ready to work, and supporting your teammates
Qualifications
Experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role (high-volume casual or full-service restaurant experience is a strong asset)
Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques: grilling, sauteing, frying, oven work, and plating
Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (Food Handler certificate an asset)
Good knife skills and attention to detail with prep and portioning
Able to work efficiently under pressure during busy services while staying calm and focused
Comfortable standing for long periods and working in a hot, fast-paced environment
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn our systems and specs
