Position Overview:
We are hiring a
Kitchen Assistant / Cashier
to help with basic food preparation, run the cash register, and deliver excellent customer service. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with food, is organized, and can multitask in a busy environment.
This position involves working primarily in our Stittsville kitchen, but you will also be required to assist at various farmers' markets across Ottawa when needed. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with basic food preparation (washing, chopping, assembling orders, etc.)
Operate the cash register and process customer orders accurately
Greet and serve customers with a positive attitude
Keep the kitchen and front counter clean and organized
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Support setup and sales at farmers' markets as required
Requirements:
Valid G2 driver's license or higher
(mandatory)
Minimum 1 year of experience in food service, restaurant, or customer service preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Must pass a background check
Schedule & Pay:
Minimum
20 hours/week guaranteed
Starting pay:
$18.00/hour
Flexible schedule - must be available evenings and weekends
