Job Summary

Makhans, an innovative restaurant in Surrey specializing in a unique fusion of Indian cuisine, is seeking a skilled Pizza maker, Kitchen Helper and Cashier to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and demonstrate experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment. Candidate should be a fast learner as training will also be provided. This role requires a dedication to excellence, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a full-service restaurant environment is preferred. Mandatory FOODSAFE Level 1 certification. Thorough understanding and adherence to proper food handling procedures. Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Strong team orientation with excellent communication skills. Robust work ethic and commitment to quality. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. Dedication to maintaining a safe workplace environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook delicious pizzas following Makhans' recipes and guidelines. Ensure the kitchen area is consistently clean and sanitized. Monitor food stock levels and place orders as needed. Assist in developing new pizza recipes and menu items. Collaborate with the kitchen team to provide exceptional service to customers. Execute food preparation, seasoning, and cooking duties efficiently and within specified timelines. Accommodate dietary restrictions by preparing meals accordingly. Operate kitchen equipment and appliances safely and proficiently. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all work areas. Monitor and maintain accurate records of food inventories. Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items according to established guidelines. Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients for subsequent shifts. Adhere strictly to recipes and presentation standards for consistent quality. Supervise kitchen operations as required. Comply with all sanitation and food safety regulations. Maintain detailed records of food, supplies, and equipment inventory. Uphold Makhans' core values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence. Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience:

Previous experience in meal preparation, food service, or the food industry is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience as a cook or in a restaurant kitchen is advantageous.
