Cuddles Learning is a STEAM education company that offers digital art and coding programs for kids ages 5-13. Through our CurioCamp learning system, we deliver structured, step-by-step lessons that make creativity and technology fun and accessible. We partner with libraries, tutoring centers, and community organizations across the GTA.
About the Role
We are looking for creative and engaging Pixel Art Instructors to teach small groups of kids using our CurioCamp system. You will lead students through beginner-friendly digital art projects, help them design characters and sprites, and support them as they build confidence in their creativity and tech skills.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and has a passion for digital art or game-style pixel design.
Responsibilities
Teach Pixel Art classes for kids ages 5-13 using CurioCamp's structured curriculum and lesson slides
Sprite and character design
Shading, highlights, and color blending using RGB principles
Symmetry tools, grid drawing, and pixel-level detailing
Simple frame-by-frame animation
Designing assets for games (icons, tiles, characters, objects)
Demonstrate digital art techniques on platforms like Pixilart.com, Procreate, or Canva (depending on class devices)
Help students understand how to work with grids, layers, palettes, and pixel brushes
Support students during hands-on practice, troubleshoot simple tech issues, and provide encouraging feedback
Use CurioCamp's badge and reward system to track engagement and motivate students
Prepare classroom devices (Chromebooks/iPads) and ensure they are ready before class starts
Maintain a positive, patient, creative atmosphere that helps young learners build confidence in digital art
Submit attendance and short class notes after each session
Qualifications
Must Have:
Experience with digital art tools (e.g., Pixilart, Procreate, Canva, or similar)
Enjoy working with children ages 5-13
Strong communication skills and patience
Ability to follow structured lesson plans and teaching scripts
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Nice to Have:
Experience teaching, tutoring, or leading kids' programs
Familiarity with pixel art, sprites, or game asset design
Experience using Chromebooks or iPads in a classroom or camp setting
Interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) education
Schedule & Locations
Part-time, mostly after-school and weekend classes
Seasonal opportunities during winter, spring, and summer camps
Classes take place at partner locations (libraries, learning centers, community spaces) in: Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Milton (and nearby areas, as programs expand)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 - 4 per week
