Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Instructor to join our program, which operates across various schools in Surrey. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a background in the arts. Our instructors play a crucial role in delivering engaging art lessons, so a creative mindset is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach art classes to children after school hours, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
- Utilize provided lesson plans while also allowing for personal creativity and input.
- Collaborate with our team to develop and enhance the learning experience for students.

Qualifications:
- Experience working with children is required.
- An art background or relevant education is preferred.
- Flexibility to commute between different schools in Surrey.

Availability:
Classes run after school, so please apply only if you are available during the hours of 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. We value flexibility and are open to candidates who can commit to one, two, or three days a week.

Duties



Develop and implement age-appropriate art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards Guide students in exploring various art techniques, mediums, and styles Foster creativity and self-expression among students of different age groups Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth Organize and supervise art projects, exhibitions, or displays within the classroom or school community Support classroom management and maintain a safe, inclusive environment Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons when appropriate Assist with classroom activities such as tutoring or extra help sessions as needed Promote positive behavior and encourage student participation in art activities

Skills



Proven experience with teaching or tutoring children in an educational setting Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and classroom management strategies Experience working with children of various ages, especially in early childhood education Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues Ability to inspire creativity and foster a supportive learning environment Basic cooking skills are considered a nice-to-have for integrating arts into broader educational activities Prior classroom experience is highly desirable to ensure effective lesson delivery and student engagement
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 10 per week

Work Location: In person
