Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting.

Duties

Provide daily care for all animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area by regularly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, play areas, and equipment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management. Assist with customer service by greeting clients, answering questions, and providing information about services offered. Handle animals safely and compassionately during interactions with staff and clients. Support the team with administrative tasks as needed, including record keeping and scheduling appointments.

Qualifications

Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (lifting up to 50 pounds). A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and welfare. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.55-$18.00 per hour
