We are seeking an experienced, patient
karate instructor
to provideprivate 1-hour karate lessons in our home
for our 5-year-old son. The primary focus ispersonal safety, confidence, discipline, and non-violent self-defense
, not competition or sparring.The instructor must be comfortable structuring a
full 60-minute session
using short, engaging segments and breaks appropriate for a young child.Key Responsibilities
Deliver
private, in-home karate instruction
Structure a1-hour lesson
with varied activities and breaks suited to a 5-year-old Teach age-appropriate karate fundamentals, including: Proper stance and balanceHands-up face protection
Blocking and stepping away Awareness of personal space Voice commands (e.g., "Stop") Disengaging and seeking adult help Useplay-based and positive reinforcement
methods Emphasizerespect, self-control, and emotional regulation
Maintain asafe, non-aggressive environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching
karate to children aged 4-7
Recognized karate training (any style welcome) Demonstrated ability to managelonger private sessions with young children
Calm, patient, and encouraging teaching style Reliable transportation to teachin-home
Vulnerable sector check preferred (or willing to obtain)*
