? Represents Membertou, and MGS, to the public and private sector in the highest possible professional standard.
? Report to the manager on a regular basis for all projects involved with (project status update, issues, etc.)
? Plan and carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision.
? Assist other team members when required.
? Performs services offered by MGS including:
o Develop web applications based on design specifications
o Work productively in a team environment providing innovative concepts, strategies and feedback for other MGS projects
o Resolve technical issues related to web-based solutions.
o Travel maybe required
o Ensure quality control and quality assurance
? Comply with Band Personnel Policy.
? Maintain positive relationships with Membertou's Internal and External Customers, ensuring transactions or information received on behalf of the Band and/or its members are kept confidential.
? Maintain and improve Membertou's Quality Management System as it relates to job related duties and/or department.
? Other related duties as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications:
? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Community College equivalent
? 2 years of professional experience in application design, development, and implementation
? Experience with modern HTML, Javascript and CSS
? Proficiency in PHP (or another programming language)
? Experience with Relational databases (MySQL/ MariaDB)
? Experience with Git or another version control system
? Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
? Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
? Recent criminal record check.
? Valid drivers' license and access to a vehicle.
? Preference given to Aboriginal peoples in accordance with the Aboriginal Employment Preferences Policy of the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
Nice to have skills:
Experience with PHP web frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, CakePHP, etc.)
Experience in DevOps
Experience in Test-driven development
GIS knowledge and GIS software experience (Esri products preferred)
