Job Description


Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting a Technical Safety Engineer to work in our St. John\xe2\x80\x99s office on large scale brownfield offshore oil and gas projects and in the onshore mining and power generation industry.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met.
  • Preparing detailed Cost, Time & Resource estimates based on client supplied work scopes.
  • Ensure design, analysis and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, Client specific design philosophies and meet project objectives and industry best practice.
  • Adhering to all HSEQ requirements within the Technical Safety discipline in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
  • Originating documentation including but not limited to drawings, specifications, data sheets, SDRL\xe2\x80\x99s, and reports.
  • Travelling offshore as required for surveys and construction support
  • Participation in HAZOPs and risk assessments
Skills / Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • Engineering Degree and Professional Engineer registered (or eligible for registration) with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Relevant work experience
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office tools - Word/Excel/Powerpoint to advanced template creation and document/data management level would be considered an asset
