The Junior Site Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient construction of a variety of projects based in Metchosin and throughout the Greater Victoria area. While this position is primarily based in Metchosin, our work extends across Vancouver Island, offering diverse and dynamic project experiences. The Junior Site Supervisor will work closely with Project Managers, coordinating subcontractors and employees while ensuring each project meets our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Ultimate accountability and responsibility for the safety, quality, and execution of the project site
Maximize site productivity by managing and coordinating the work performance, quality and efficiency of subtrades
Train, coach, mentor and provide performance feedback to Makon employees working on Supervisor's job site
Execute the project within the approved schedule and budget and efficiently managing labour, equipment, and material resources
Responsible for ensuring highest level of quality is maintained for each project and completed in accordance with industry standards
Providing input and solutions into design changes and obstacles
Accountable, with Project Manager, to effectively manage project budget
Read, understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Ensure latest revisions of all IFC documents are accessible and onsite and provided to subtrades and vendors
Material coordination and management
Responsible for producing daily/weekly progress reports
Ensure all field staff adheres to Makon Project's Health, Safety and Environment practices and procedures, and to be a chairperson for toolbox safety meetings as required
Responsible to uphold company standards for cleanliness, workmanship and specifications to ensure they meet legislative and safety code requirements.
Working with the Project Manager's to execute the prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
At times, required to be on tools

Extensive knowledge of power tools

Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Education/Experience
Minimum 3 years experience working in a supervisory type role
Preferred: Red Seal Journeyman trades certificate
Level 1 (minimum) First Aid certification and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
Good working knowledge of computers
Possess a valid driver's license (Class 5) with a clean driver's abstract
Supervisor or Construction Management Training an asset
