PRINCIPAL OF JUNIOR SCHOOL
Balmoral Hall School for Girls seeks a bold, passionate leader to inspire and innovate in education. The Junior School Principal fosters a future-focused culture where faculty and students feel valued and safe to explore new ideas.
Responsible for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5, the principal ensures a nurturing, enriching environment while collaborating with staff, parents, and the broader school community to create a positive, inclusive experience.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Junior School Principal plays a key role in strategic leadership. With strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking, they will drive the School's bold vision, bringing innovation, excellence, and a collaborative approach to academic and operational planning.
Key Areas of Responsibility include:
• Creates a clear and inspiring vision, strategy, and priorities for the Junior School, aligned with Balmoral Hall School's strategic direction.
• Contributes to the overall health, success, and sustainability of the School as a member of the strategic leadership team. Oversees budgeting, resource allocation, and the effective use of school facilities.
• Oversees all aspects of Junior School operations, fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Actively nurtures the "esprit de corps" of Junior School traditions and integrates programs such as Early Bird, lunch, and Extended Day.
• Leads, supports, and develops an outstanding faculty team in the delivery of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate program. Ensures a structured timetable, effective staffing, and a collaborative, growth-oriented workplace.
• Provides leadership in the implementation of professional standards of excellence and ensures an inspiring professional development program aligned with each faculty and staff member's learning goals.
• Builds strong relationships with the Junior School parent community and networks regularly with community stakeholders.
• Upholds the school's reputation for excellence, celebrates its rich traditions and unique culture while ensuring its continued growth and evolution in the forefront of education.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor of Education; Master of Education an asset
• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience and 5+ years progressive experience in leadership roles
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the position

• Ability to be a compassionate and dynamic role model for the girls and young women at Balmoral Hall School.
• Possesses the resiliency, vision, and innovation needed to advance the strategic directions of Junior School.
• Superior interpersonal savvy and excellent communication skills that support high level of engagement of faculty, students and families.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving acumen to day to day challenges and implement creative solutions.
• Ability to collaborate not only with staff but other principals and leadership team.
• Demonstrated commitment towards continuous learning, growth, and achievement of high performance.
