The Junior Sales Manager supports the dealership's sales leadership team by helping drive vehicle sales performance, managing day-to-day operations of the sales floor, and developing sales staff. This role is designed as a stepping stone into senior management and requires a mix of leadership, sales expertise, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Performance
Assist in achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for new and pre-owned vehicles.
Track sales metrics (closing ratios, lead response times, inventory turn, gross profit per unit).
Support the implementation of sales campaigns, promotions, and OEM incentive programs.
Work closely with the General Sales Manager to forecast sales volume and inventory needs.
Team Leadership
Provide day-to-day guidance to sales consultants, including coaching on product knowledge, customer interactions, and closing techniques.
Monitor lead follow-up and ensure compliance with dealership CRM processes.
Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and training of new sales team members.
Act as 'Manager on Duty' during peak hours when required.
Customer Experience
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction (CSI) throughout the sales process.
Step in to assist with customer escalations, negotiations, or deal structuring when necessary.
Promote dealership reputation through professionalism and ethical business practices.
Administration & Compliance
Maintain accurate deal paperwork and compliance with AMVIC and dealership policies.
Monitor and support adherence to OEM standards and requirements.
Contribute to weekly and monthly sales reports for management review.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in automotive sales (2+ years preferred).
Strong leadership potential with proven ability to motivate a team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of dealership CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid Manitoba driver's license with clean driving record.
AMVIC certification (or ability to obtain).
