Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Project Coordinator to support vessel refit and maintenance projects. This role is well-suited to someone who has exposure to shipyard environments, vessel maintenance, or marine construction, and who is looking to grow within the marine industry. You will assist with coordinating refit activities, maintaining project documentation, supporting quality assurance processes, and preparing work quotations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination

Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of vessel refit and repair projects

Assist in preparing quotes and work scopes for vessel refits, repairs, and modifications

Obtain pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and trades

Support tracking of estimated versus actual costs and approved change work

Assist with scheduling trades, subcontractors, and yard resources

Track work progress, milestones, and change requests throughout refit projects

Liaise with shipyard personnel, suppliers, and vessel representatives as required

Assist with quality assurance processes to ensure work meets shipyard standards, class requirements, and regulatory guidelines

Support inspections, test documentation, and deficiency tracking

Help ensure refit work complies with safety, environmental, and quality procedures

Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation including work scopes, inspection reports, change orders, and close-out packages

Qualifications & Experience

1-3 years of experience in a shipyard, vessel refit, marine construction, or related marine environment

Familiarity with common shipyard trades (welding, mechanical, electrical, coatings, etc.) is an asset

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced yard environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with project management or maintenance software is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$71,022.39 per year
