Junior Legal Assistant
to join our team!
We are looking for someone with a minimum of
one
year recent experience
in CIVIL litigation. The right candidate will be energetic with a strong work ethic and will be dedicated to providing outstanding service to our clients.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigation lawyers, starting with foundational responsibilities and expanding into more advanced duties over time.

Initial Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for clients, managing incoming calls with professionalism and discretion.
Perform general administrative tasks, including scheduling, calendar management, filing, scanning, and document organization.
Assist with basic correspondence and maintain organized case files.
Opportunities for Growth
As skills and experience develop, responsibilities will expand to include:
Assist in drafting, preparing and filing various litigation documentations such as, pleadings, affidavits, and notices
Communicate professionally with clients and various court and tribunal offices and opposing counsel(s)
Independently manage timelines and procedural steps on files
Maintain the bring-forward system
Manage administrative details including accounting, opening and closing files, docketing, billing, court scheduling, booking meetings
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of
one year recent CIVIL litigation experience
Successful completion of a legal assistant diploma course
Knowledge of the Alberta Rules of Court
Strong technical skills using MS Office
Organized and meticulous with follow-ups
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take initiative

Compensation
Competitive entry-level hourly rate, with increases as skills and responsibilities grow.

8-hour shift
Monday to Friday
No weekends
