MU STUDIO is a Toronto-based interior design firm specializing in both residential and commercial interior design. We pride ourselves on creating unique and personalized spaces that reflect the individuality of our clients. As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a passionate and skilled Junior Interior Designer to join us on a 6-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely and contribute to exciting design projects under the guidance of our principal designer. There is also the possibility of extending or transitioning to a permanent role, subject to performance and business needs.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Junior Interior Designer to support our principal designer in various aspects of the design process. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office, combined with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics. This role requires a clear understanding of spatial awareness, space planning, and selecting appropriate furnishings and finishes, as well as a passion for both residential and commercial design.

Pay

: $20-$22/hr

Shift:

Monday - Friday from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

Assist in the creation of design concepts and mood boards for residential and commercial projects.

Develop detailed AutoCAD drawings and 3D models using SketchUp to visualize design ideas.

Collaborate with the principal designer to select furniture, fixtures, and materials that align with the project requirements.

Conduct research on design trends, materials, and vendors to support project development.

Maintain project files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Participate in online meetings and discussions to review project progress, provide input, and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Support the principal designer in communicating with clients and coordinating project logistics, including on-site visits for measurements and assessments as required.

Requirements:

Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Canva, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and furniture selection, with knowledge of luxury furniture and interior design-related brands.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment, demonstrating clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

Passion for interior design and a desire to learn and grow in the field, with prior experience or education in interior design preferred.

Must have the necessary equipment to do the work and

be available for onsite meetings as required.
