Come join our dynamic Emergency Preparedness and Response Team in the Ontario region to grow your career to the next level! as a Junior Emergency Management Consultant, you will play a meaningful role within our Environmental Group. This position gives candidate the unique experience of working in a matrix business performing work with skilled professionals across North America in a collaborative environment with opportunities for specialization and advancement. The role will be based out of our Waterloo office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the delivery of Emergency Management (EM) services such as regulatory/ response planning, hazard, risk, vulnerability, and capability assessments (HRVCA), training, exercises, and Incident Command System (ICS) management
• Contributing to the preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, and work plans
• Assistance in compliance assessments and program reviews of client emergency management programs
• Support business development with existing as well as new clients, including assisting with proposal pursuits
• Responsible for project management activities including, cost and budget tracking, scheduling, client communication and liaising, and preparation and implementation of scopes of work

Skills, Competencies, Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master\'s degree in an emergency management, engineering, or scientific background (such as chemistry, biology, earth sciences, environmental engineering, environmental sciences).
• Previous employment experience in a similar emergency management role
• Experience in spill response, ICS management, EM assessment, EM planning, EM training, or EM exercise facilitation considered an asset
• Experience in, industrial settings, dangerous goods, regulatory compliance, process flow, and/or process safety considered an asset
• Prior consulting experience working with clients on the delivery of EM projects will be considered an asset
• Proven problem-solving abilities and proficiency
• Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner to audiences of varying technical abilities and backgrounds
• Ability to qualify for and attain a TN Visa to work in the United States
• Positive attitude with very strong interpersonal skills
• Readiness to travel up to 10% of the time and respond to call outs during non-routine working hours, as required
• High degree of personal initiative, great teammate, and capable of work on a wide variety of tasks
• Must reside in Canada with access to an International Airport
• Must have a drivers valid drivers license
