Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Junior Accountant will assist the PMP team by carrying out various accounting functions, keeping in compliance with prescribed policies, procedures, and standard accounting practices.
Specifically, the Junior Financial Accountant will :
  • Organize, prepare, and record all monthly billings for our fabrication shop
  • Assist in completing monthly billings and financial reports for the group of companies
  • Pursue receipt of overdue accounts and resolve minor differences with clients
  • Work with the Purchasing and Inventory Departments on necessary accounting functions including purchase orders and stock transactions
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling inventory ledger balances
  • Work collaboratively with Inventory Control Manager to resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Assist with shop and inventory storage organization
  • Organize monthly inventory counts and record adjustments if necessary
  • Work collaboratively with the inventory control manager to conduct the year-end inventory count
  • Record shop order transactions
  • Development of monthly Work On Hand Reports
  • Printing and providing various cost reports for other members of the company
  • Assist with month end, quarter-end and year-end activities
  • Recording and posting journal entries as required
  • Assist with other bookkeeping functions as required
  • Filing as required
  • Perform other office-related duties as required

Education and Experience
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance/Accounting is required
  • Formal education in Accounting and/or Finance from a Canadian institution is a strong asset
  • Experience with a large-scale ERP system is required.
  • Inventory experience is an asset
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office
  • Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset
  • Full-cycle accounting experience is an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered
  • Enrollment in the CPA program is preferred
